Merge was crafted as a smooth woody amber with the slightest squeeze of citrus. It is rich and velvety with rounded edges. The vanilla facet smooths any harshness from the woods and citrus to give depth and creaminess which lasts well throughout the day. Textured musks and a few choice materials were chosen to give the illusion of sand.
“During the lockdown lifting of late 2020, my mum and I escaped away to the Welsh coast. Freedom from those four walls which had become all encompassing; work, home, and leisure.
Merge is a snapshot in time, inspired by a walk along the beach at sunset on the final evening of that short break; as the sun was setting the colour of the sky and sea blended seamlessly. I loved the idea of creating a perfume which transitioned and flowed in the same way.
I was actually working on a number of fragrances for a different collection at the time, but in the same way, working on Merge offered a break and allowed me 'reset' with perfume, too. Merge aims to reflect that golden glow in a balanced fragrance which ebbs and flows throughout the evening but always feels seamless.
After the walk, we sat outside to enjoy a meal at The Cellar, accompanied of course by an espresso martini. I distinctly remember a lady from an animal rescue charity trying in vain to catch an injured bird from the harbour dock for the duration of our meal!"
